So I've been wondering.
With the ELO ranking system in LoL - how do you think DoTA will rank it's players?
Its easy to run into players who had their ELO carried by teammates and/or friends. Because of this ELO is determined by your TEAM score and NOT your individual score.
With a game like DoTA2 its quite difficult to rank on individual score due to certain baises. (someone playing Lion/Lina/Lich will have a much higher K/D Ratio than someone who frequently plays Chen for example)
Can DoTA2 use a combination of:
Kill/Death Ratio
Assist/Death Ratio
Creep Kill / Creep Deny Ratio
Average Game Time
Average Time Alive
Average Time Dead
Average gold per minute
Average Exp per minute
to distribute a fair ranking system? What are your thoughts?

A combination of those rates would be ideal. If the ranking system is based solely on W/L ratio then it will be horrible...

I think there should be a Helpful/usefulness type of system.
Basicly at the end of the game, how many assists did you have vs the amount of assist there is in your team total. Same with kills, deaths and whatever else you find important in determinating if you were pro in that game or not. Take that ratio to find out how much of that one round u did for ur team. so if u got 12/37 kills and 5/37 assist and like 1/35 deaths in your team. your obviously the pro star of the team. So like u did like 45% of the work for your team? so you would fight people who are around like say a ratio of 30-50 or something like that. Complex system but I think this way newbs will be pitted vs newbs, and pros be pitted vs pros. I think most people will end up with a 20-30% average.
Kinda ilke Starcraft's bronze, silver, gold, diamond, plat leauges. but better lol.
