Release Date Changes
Sep 30 2011 09:23 AM | FLyingLeTtuce in Dota 2 Articles
With much anticipation fans eagerly wait to get their hands on Dota 2. Especially after watching The International tournament at Gamescom. Valve decided to keep game in beta phase for another year and pushed the release date to 2012 instead of late 2011. They did this so they could polish the game, and meet par with number of heroes in Dota 1. Those projected dates changed after Valve noticed their plan to entice viewers got more than a positive response; and that people are ready to play the game as it is.
Their new plan is to release the game as "fast as they can." Just how it was shown at The International. This is great news, because now this also implies a sooner then expected coalition of beta keys. Right now the game is still in closed beta, and only invite players are receiving entry. The rest of players sit on the benches.
I know many of you are at a loss in many beta key contests, and wonder if you'll ever get to play the game, and show off your magic skills. Do not worry, because your chances in the future will increase, and you'll be basking in the battlefield of Dota 2. Who knows, maybe the mystified open beta will be announced and you will find a key in your mailbox with a Valve stamped invite. Keep on trekking, because these days of anticipation will soon be at an end.
